Soeren von Varchmin is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of CloudFest with a robust career in and an in-depth knowledge of the global cloud, hosting, internet infrastructure and domaining space.

Rebecca leads the team that drives nearly every aspect of our hyperscale platform execution across strategic planning, hardware and software enabling, marketing and sales. Together they shape the development, production, and engagement strategy of Intel’s hyperscale solutions to ensure we are delivering the best value for our customers with enthusiasm and urgency. She drives strategic collaborations with key partners including OxMs, ISVs & OSVs to ensure ecosystem readiness that meets our customer needs. In her "spare" time, she’s the lead singer of a funk & soul band, Sinister Dexter, was professionally trained in dance (tap, modern, and jazz), and is an experienced choreographer. She loves investing and mentoring diverse technical talent to help build our pipeline. She has two amazing little boys, and loves to run (after them, and on her own). Rebecca graduated from MIT with a degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.

Hannes Schwaderer has been the Country Manager of Intel Germany GmbH since October 2018 and is responsible for all Sales and Marketing related operations. Prior he led the development and execution of solutions for all vertical end-customer segments in Germany as the Head of Enterprise Sales. In 2011, Hannes served as the Director Energy Sectors of the EMEA region and was responsible for the design and implementation of industry-specific solutions within the electricity, oil and gas sector. In addition to his role as Managing Director at Intel GmbH, he has been responsible for the company’s business activities in Central Europe from August 2004 until July 2015. He began his career at Intel in 1994 as Retail Marketing Manager. In 1998, he continued to work as EMEA Market Development Manager and took on the position as Marketing Manager for Central Europe in the following year. From August 2002 to August 2011, he was responsible for all marketing and sales activities as Country Manager for Germany and Austria. Furthermore, Hannes Schwaderer acts as the President of Initiative D21, Europe's biggest partnership and serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence at Technical University of Munich.

Dr. Oliver Mauss is CEO of the PlusServer Group since July 2018. In addition to the management of the operational business, he drives forward plusserver’s transformation to a Managed Cloud Service Provider as well as the development of new business areas. He looks back on more than 20 years of experience in the hosting and telecommunications industry. Initially as Managing Director of 1&1 Internet AG, he managed one of the largest hosting providers in Europe. Before joining 1&1, he held various positions within the Vodafone Group, including head of business customer segment. Oliver Mauss studied in Aachen, Germany, where he received his PhD in Electrical Engineering.

Markus Leberecht has spent his career at Intel holding a variety of individual and managerial roles in technical sales since joining the company in June 2006. He currently holds the position of a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect and is specializing in cloud service provider infrastructure. He holds a doctorate degree from the University of Technology, Munich, Germany, and furthermore is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect.

Rainer Straeter is Head of Global Platform Hosting at IONOS. In this role he is leading the international IaaS technology division as well as the international technology teams at IONOS’s subsidiaries Fasthosts and Arsys. In 2015, he was responsible for IONOS’s successfully launched next generation cloud platform in EU and US. Since 2019, he has held a seat in several committees and working groups within Gaia-X. Rainer Straeter has over 20 years of experience in the hosting business with a strong focus on developing infrastructure solutions. After studying electrical engineering at the University of Dortmund and the grand école ISEN in Lille he started his career in software development of VoIP stacks and represented his company in the standardization bodies as ETSI.org and MSAF. Before joining IONOS in 2012, Rainer Straeter worked in different positions at Web.de, Telefonica O2 and Deutsche Bahn and took responsibility for various projects.

Alban Schmutz is VP Strategic Dev. & Public Affairs at OVHcloud, one of the founding members of GAIA-X. Within GAIA-X he currently serves as Interim Deputy CTO and co-chair of the Policy Rules Committee. Alban is also Chairman of CISPE (Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe, cispe.cloud), which created the 1st GDPR Data Protection code of conduct for Cloud Infrastructure services. CISPE is focusing on developing the best playing field for Cloud in Europe, addressing Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Reversibility or Climate Impact. CISPE is also a founding member of GAIA-X. In addition, Alban is co-founder and Board Member of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact (ClimateNeutralDataCentre.net), a self-regulatory Initiative to make data centres in Europe climate neutral by 2030, supported by 20 trade associations and 35 cloud and data center businesses. Together with the General Secretary of EuroCIO, Alban co-chaired of the SWIPO IaaS working group facilitated by the European Commission to develop the 1st industry code of conduct for porting of data for cloud infrastructure services to fulfill the Free Flow of non-personal Data Regulation. Finally, he serves as board members of various organizations, including the SystemX Institute for Research and Technology, the Alacrité startup accelerator, Eurocloud France or Yncrea Ouest engineering school. Before joining OVHcloud, Alban started several companies in Open Source Services and High Performance Computing. He holds Master degrees in Telecommunications, Political Science and Entrepreneurship.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989 while working as a software engineer at CERN, the large particle physics laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland. Sir Tim understood the unrealized potential of millions of computers connected together through the Internet and envisioned the Web as a global information sharing space. Sir Tim proposed what was to become the World Wide Web with a proposal specifying a set of technologies that would make the Internet truly accessible and useful to the world.. Despite initial setbacks and with perseverance, by October of 1990, he had specified the three fundamental technologies that remain the foundation of today’s Web : HTML, URL, and HTTP. He also wrote the first Web page editor/browser (“WorldWideWeb”) and the first Web server (“?httpd“). By the end of 1990, the first Web page was available. By 1991, people outside of CERN joined the new Web community, and in April 1993, from much encouragement from Sir Tim and his colleagues, CERN announced that the World Wide Web technology would be available for anyone to use on a royalty-free basis. Since that time, the Web has changed the world, arguably becoming the most powerful communication medium the world has ever known. Whereas only just over one half of the people on the planet are currently using the Web the Web has fundamentally altered the way we teach and learn, buy and sell, inform and are informed, agree and disagree, share and collaborate, meet and love, and tackle problems ranging from putting food on our tables to curing diseases. In 2009, Sir Tim recognized that the Web’s potential to empower people to bring about positive change remained unrealized by billions around the world. Announcing the formation of the World Wide Web Foundation, he once again confirmed his commitment to ensuring an open, free Web accessible and to all where people can share knowledge, access services, conduct commerce, participate in good governance and communicate in creative ways. In 2012 Sir Tim co-founded the Open Data Institute with Sir Nigel Shadbolt, which seeks to show the value of open data, and to advocate for the innovative use of open data to affect positive change across the globe. A graduate of Oxford University, Sir Tim is a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) andin the Computer Science Department at Oxford University.

The CEO and Co-Founder of Endel, Oleg Stavitsky innovates at the intersection of technology, art, and wellness. In 2018 he founded Endel to make AI-powered mindfulness accessible to all. The company’s core technology Endel Pacific creates personalized, adaptive soundscapes to reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost productivity — all backed by neuroscience and the science of the circadian rhythm. Endel is the Apple Watch App of the Year 2020. Prior to Endel, in 2013 Stavitsky co-founded BUBL, a brand that applies digital art methods to kids apps, BUBL was featured by Apple and acquired by Fox&Sheep, one of top-three biggest kids apps publishers. Along with an elite design and coding team, Stavitsky has built seven BUBL apps, all of which have received an App Store Editor's Choice award, and many of which were selected to Best of App Store lists. Before BUBL, Stavitsky was a Features Editor at Igromania, Russia's biggest gaming magazine, and a producer at KranX Production, a videogame producing center founded by the creators of cult-classic PC titles like Vangers and Perimeter. Oleg also founded the award-winning V3 Agency, which he grew to 40 people and sold in 2016 to Berlin-based fintech company Aureum. V3 built apps for some of the biggest Berlin startups, including Kitchen Stories (acquired by Bosch) and Memorado, and also won numerous awards, including the Google Design Award, iF Design Award, and German Design Award. Heidi Zak is the Co-Founder and CEO of ThirdLove, the third largest online bra and underwear company in America. Zak left her job at Google with the dream of offering a better option, a “ThirdLove” where women don’t have to choose between comfort and beauty. ThirdLove is the only brand to offer half-cup bras and more than 80 bra sizes, and the Company is proud to have donated over $40 million worth of products to women in need. Zak has been recognized as Fortune's 40 Under 40, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, National Retail Federation's Disruptors, Fast Company’s Most Creative People and Goldman Sachs' 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs. James Gosling received a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada in 1977. He received a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1983. The title of his thesis was "The Algebraic Manipulation of Constraints". He has built satellite data acquisition systems, a multiprocessor version of Unix, several compilers, mail systems and window managers. He has also built a WYSIWYG text editor, a constraint based drawing editor and a text editor called `Emacs' for Unix systems. He spent many years as a VP & Fellow at Sun Microsystems. At Sun his early activity was as lead engineer of the NeWS window system. He did the original design of the Java programming language and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine. He has been a contributor to the Real-Time Specification for Java, and a researcher at Sun labs where his primary interest was software development tools. He then was the Chief Technology Officer of Sun's Developer Products Group and the CTO of Sun's Client Software Group. He briefly worked for Oracle after the acquisition of Sun in 2010. After a brief stint at Google, he became the chief software architect at Liquid Robotics where he spent his time writing software for the Waveglider, an autonomous ocean-going robot. In May of 2017 he became a Distinguished Engineer at Amazon Web Services. Awards: The Economist Innovation Award, The Flame Award USENIX Lifetime Achievement Award, Officer of the Order of Canada, a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, the IEEE John von Neumann Medal, and a long list of patents.

Alexander Rabe is responsible for the public image of the association from the strategic content and communicative perspectives, in its Berlin, Brussels and Cologne locations. With more than 1,100 member companies, eco is the largest Internet industry association in Europe. Since 1995, eco has been instrumental in shaping the development of the Internet in Germany, and fostering new technologies and infrastructures. eco actively contributes to shaping the legislative framework conditions for the innovation-friendly and at the same time ethically-oriented digital transformation of the economy and society. Rabe is a co-initiator of the “Alliance for the Strengthening of Digital Infrastructures in Germany”, a member initiative led by eco, supported by companies such as Cloud & Heat, Interxion, Equinix, AWS, Netcologne, Telemaxx, Noris networks, DE-CIX, tollhouse and more. Rabe came to eco in 2016 as Head of the Policy, Law & Regulations division. Rabe represents eco amongst other things at the Digital Summit of the German Federal Government in dealings with the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), and the Digital Sovereignty Focus Group of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs (BMWi). Between 2007-2012 he was the Managing Director of Global Switch in Germany. Prior to this he held the same position at TeleCity where he was responsible for TeleCity’s German operations for four years. Before assuming this position he had been the Managing Director of Teleglobe and responsible for their activities in Germany and Austria. Dr. Waldhauser earned a degree in theoretical physics and began his professional career at Telenorma/Bosch Telecom, where he has started as a trainee and later worked as an Executive Assistant. Following these early years he went on to GTS-Westcom and later to First Telecom as their Sales and Marketing Director. Since 2009 Dr. Waldhauser is orchestrating the “Competence Group Data Centre & Infrastructure” at the eco e. V. In this position he is also leading the related working group. Furthermore he is a part of the jury team for “Deutscher Rechenzentrumspreis” since 2011. The price is awarded in conjunction with the yearly “Future Thinking” congress. In July 2014 the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) appointed Dr. Waldhauser in his position as an industry expert and member of the eco e.V. – guiding the organisation’s expert task force for data centres. For the BMBF he is involved in the development of the new strategy platform “IKT in H2020”.
